Americans Weigh in on How the Election May Impact Their Travel

Summary

A question that is quite topical for our industry at the moment is: what impact will the election have on travel behavior and choices, if any? So we asked some members of our traveling consumer panel last week right before the election. Tune in above to hear what they said.

Fortunately, we don’t see the election impacting travel volume—the behavior of doing it overall. As you may recall last month, Future Partners explored whether there is any expectation for holiday tensions around political disagreements with family members this holiday season and found that just one in five (21.7%) American travelers think politics will create challenges around family holiday time this year, while the majority (60.8%) believe this will be unlikely. These traveling consumers' feedback and survey findings point to travel volume not being significantly disrupted due specifically for political reasons.
